In times when crisis almost froze the world, companies in Romania still found the energy to move forward and accepted Superbrands’ challenge to contribute to building this programme. The 2008/2009 Tribute Event, paying tribute to exceptional brands was organized on April 27th 2009, at JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel.

Within the event, the Honorary Superbrands Recognition trophy was awarded to a Romanian personality that over the year has had a considerable impact on the evolution of society. In 2009, the trophy was awarded to Mr. Dan Puric, the artist awarded with the UNESCO Grand Prix for Cultural Development and special guest of the last World Exhibition of the 20th century.
